Zidlochovice is the true center of the area south of the metropolis city of Brno, which is at the base of the highest hill, Vyhon (355 meters above sea-level). Belonging to the Dyjsko Svaratecky Uval on the river Svratka, Zidlochovice city is famous and characterized by its chateau, which is well known as the Moravian residence of the first Czech President, T.G. Masaryk, and as the birth place of prominent Habsburgs.
Zidlochovice Chateau is currently situated as a water fortress. This fortress was rebuilt into castle by Fridrich from Zerotín. During the years 1722 - 1728 , Count Sinzendorf gave the castle a baroque look , and then during the years 1844 - 1845, the castle was transformed into the style as you see it today by the Habsburgs. Since 1919, the beautiful and historic castle has belonged to the Government and is used as a representative place.
