Troja Chateau

gallery

Václav Vojtìch, Count of Šternberk had a summer residence built in Trója starting in 1679. The manor was built by S. Carlone according to the project designs of J. M. Matheye. The statues which decorate the stairway in the garden were made by artists from Dresden, Jiøí and Pavel Heerman, after 1685. Adorning the interiors of the manor, priceless paintings and other decorations of 19th century Czech art are accompanied by historical costumes from the collections of the National Museum of Art. The newly installed exhibition recalling the times of Marco Polo illustrates the Far East in the old prints and maps. With its well maintenance and elaborate grounds, the Chateau Trója has become a favorite of couples seeking a venue capable of hosting hundreds of guests while still maintaining a posh sense of grandeur.
